Nightingale Awards 2023
Exhibitors at the Healthcare Design Conference + Expo, Nov. 4-7 in New Orleans, can start their entries to the 2023 Nightingale Awards.
The Nightingale Awards will recognize new healthcare and contract products that were introduced to the U.S. market after November 2022 and were not judged in previous Nightingale Awards competitions. Presented by Healthcare Design magazine in partnership with The Center for Health Design and the HCD Conference, the awards recognize contributions to the healthcare built environment through product design and innovation that contributes to healing.
A qualified judging panel of healthcare interior designers and facilities executives will evaluate entries on the basis of the criteria: Aesthetics & Innovation; Built Environment Solution, Durability, Functionality & Quality; Contribution or Solution for Clinical or Operational Outcomes; Industry Certifications & Standards; Environmental Sustainability; and Pricing.
The judges will preview all entries digitally, work in three teams and visit exhibit booths during exhibitor set-up hours on Sunday, Nov. 5, 9:00 am – 12:30 p.m. to examine/judge the actual products and ask questions of the manufacturers. The jury will evaluate and assign Gold, Silver, Innovation, Sustainability, and Best of Competition Awards. The decisions of the judges are final.
No prototypes are allowed to enter. Manufacturers must be able to ship/deliver/install products entered in the 2023 Nightingale Awards by April 1, 2024.
To learn of the winners, Nightingale Awards entrants should plan to attend The Center for Health Design Awards, The Nightingale Awards & Changemaker Keynote Presentation in the Morial Convention Center on Monday, November 6, 8:00-9:15 a.m.
The competition entry fee is $595 per entry before September 24, and the late fee is $695 per entry, Sept. 25 through Oct. 13. Payment is by credit card online through Emerald’s PayPal account, as publisher of Healthcare Design.
Each manufacturer/brand may enter as many products into the competition in as many categories as they wish. Any product may be entered in one or more categories as the product fits and products that cross categories may be entered into different categories, where they will be evaluated by different teams of jurors. Click to review the 18 product categories.
If a product is entered into an additional category, an additional entry fee corresponding to the deadlines of Regular or Late must be paid and an additional digital entry must be completed. An entrant can duplicate an existing entry and use the drop-down menu to select the category.
Each entrant must submit a completed entry form at the Nightingale Awards entry portal where the entrant includes a product description, responds to the criteria questions presented (limited to 200 words per question), uploads images of each product in low-resolution for digital review by the jury and high-resolution for the award-winners digital presentation on Monday morning and for print use in Healthcare Design magazine.
The contest closes Oct. 13, 2023 at 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time. All entries must be received by the deadline; no extensions will be offered. Start your entry here today.
